As an artist passionate about capturing the essence of wildlife through my drawings, I am delighted to share the news that my works Furtive Spirit and Human have been selected for the prestigious Salon d'Automne in Paris.
Created in 1903 with the aim of promoting the avant-garde and innovative minds of their time, the Salon d'Automne continues to champion a variety of styles and artists and focuses on showcasing a large part of contemporary creation. This historic contemporary art event continues to encourage modernity in French and international art by bringing together nearly 1,000 artists in an annual exhibition. The Salon d'Automne is undoubtedly the promoter of all arts, without distinction of hierarchy, in France and internationally.
Created using graphite and carbon pencils on watercolor paper, the work Human is part of a series called In the Light, in which each subject is highlighted by playing with light in such a way that it seems to emerge from the shadows.
Through this contrast between light and shadow, I create an impression of depth and presence, as if the animal were coming to life on the paper. This play of light and dark allows me to capture and emphasize the subtle details of each animal, creating a strong visual and emotional connection with the viewer.
The work Furtive Spirit is part of my Wild Spirits series, a graphic exploration in which the animal becomes the messenger of an inner force, both instinctive and spiritual. Each drawing seeks to capture the mystery and intensity that wildlife inspires in us.
Being selected for the Salon d'Automne is a tremendous honour and a testament to my dedication to animal art. I hope that Human and Furtive Spirit will resonate with viewers, inspiring them to connect with nature on a deeper level and join the effort to protect our planet's precious wildlife.
