“Wild Allegories” series of hyperrealistic drawings
Contemporary animal art exploring the dialogue between stone and living beings
Through the series “Wild Allegories”, I reinterpret the classical representations of the four elements—Water, Fire, Air, and Earth—by grounding them in a vibrant biological reality. By substituting real wild species for mythological creatures, I offer a contemporary interpretation of allegorical statuary, creating a bridge between art history and the preservation of nature.
The duality between eternity and fragility
In these life-size compositions, I contrast the permanence of carved marble with the ephemeral presence of the animal world. My meticulous work in graphite and carbon goes beyond the mere reproduction of forms; it seeks to breathe life into the stone.
- Marble: A symbol of immutability and classical heritage.
- The Living: A symbol of wild strength, but also of great vulnerability.
This series illustrates the power of nature while highlighting its precious nature. Each pencil stroke breathes a wild and contemporary spirit into these allegorical figures, inviting the viewer to rediscover the fundamental elements through a new and sensitive lens.
