Gold Medal at Salon National des Artistes Animaliers 2025

Gold Medal at Salon National des Artistes Animaliers 2025

As an artist passionate about capturing the essence of wildlife through my drawings, I am delighted to share my thoughts on returning from the opening of the Salon National des Artistes Animaliers in Bry-sur-Marne, which took place last night.

After winning the bronze medal at the previous edition, it was an honor and a real surprise to win another medal: this time the gold medal! This award recognizes my work Silent Reflections, one of my two works selected for this prestigious exhibition this year. This annual event celebrates the incredible talents of artists specialising in animal art, and I am honored to be part of it and to receive this highest distinction.

Created with graphite and charcoal pencils on watercolor paper, the works The Lion King and Silent Reflections are part of a series called In the Light, in which each subject is highlighted by playing with light in such a way that it seems to emerge from the shadows.

Through this contrast between light and shadow, I create a sense of depth and presence, as if the animal were coming to life on the paper. This play of light and dark captures and highlights the subtle details of each animal, creating a strong visual and emotional connection with the viewer.

Being selected for the National Animal Artists Exhibition is a tremendous honor and a testament to my dedication to animal art. I hope that The Lion King and Silent Reflections will resonate with viewers, inspiring them to connect with nature on a deeper level and join the effort to protect our planet’s precious wildlife.
